Finalized Fight Card for TUF 6 Finale

The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale show takes place this Saturday night on Spike TV. The event will take place at The Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the conclusion of the show having already taken place, the full card has materialized and been announced. MMAJunkie brought the news earlier this evening.

TUF 6 Live Season Finale

Roger Huerta vs. Clay Guida
Mac Danzig vs. Tommy Speer (TUF 6 Final Bout)
Jared Rollins vs. Jon Koppenhaver
George Sotiropoulous vs. Billy Miles

Ben Saunders vs. Dan Barrera
Matt Arroyo vs. Jon Kolosci
Troy Mandaloniz vs. Richie Hightower
Roman Mitichyan vs. Dorian Price
Paul Georgieff vs. Jonathan Goulet

  • Why on earth is Jared Rollins vs. Jon Koppenhaver a main card fight when there are fights like Ben Saunders vs. Dan Barrera and Matt Arroyo vs. Jon Kolosci as prelim fights?

It’s like Rollins and Koppenhaver are being rewarded for their scuffle in the TUF house. If that hadn’t happened, they would be on a prelim fight seen by a few thousand people in attendance and a few thousand people online. Because that scuffle did happen, their TUF finale fight will be seen by millions of people on the main card. What kind of message does that send?

  • Sam Cupitt says:

It wasn’t really a fight, it was just pushing and shoving/tackling. It sends the message that you

“Settle fights here, in the octagon” – Chuck Liddell, Entourage

  • Okay, so then the message is that if you get into a pushing/shoving/tackling match in the TUF house, you’ll be rewarded with a main card bout in front of an audience of millions, instead of the prelim fight with an audience of thousands that you would have otherwise gotten?

  • Sam Cupitt says:

Look at the fights on the undercard, they really aren’t that all intriguing to the average viewer. That is why Rollins and Koppenhaver is on the main card. Because it is more marketable than the other ones.

Price and Mitichyan went out too early. I dont even remember who Georgieff is and I have no interest in ever seeing Goulet fight again. Mandaloniz vs. Hightower will probably be decent but it just seems like a harmless matchup that isnt very intriguing. Arroyo probably should be fighting George on the main card but the viewers have seen enough of Kolosci to know they dont need to watch him on the maincard.

The backstory of Rollins and Koppenhaver is what makes it stand out and makes it intriguing to the fans. That is why its on the main card.

  • Dave says:

I’d also have to think that the UFC has their eye on Rollins as a potential regular. Or War Machine, I guess, but that’s less likely. They don’t tend to waste TV time on guys they can’t push, and that’s clearly why George vs. Billy is on the main card.
