Breaking News: Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta to hold Tuesday press conference to address recent statements by Randy Couture

ufc_presser.jpg ( has learned that UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and UFC president Dana White have called a press conference for tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.

The press conference will be held at the UFC’s offices in Las Vegas and will be available to the general public via a live steam on

The press conference has been called to address recent statements made by Randy Couture that pertain to his decision to resign from the UFC.

Fertitta’s involvement speaks volumes but it’s also believed that UFC Chief Financial Officer John Mulkey will be at the press conference as well. That’s a very unusual move for the UFC to make their CFO available.

White and Fertitta will both make themselves available to the press for questions at the press conference.

I hope that someone bitch slaps White. He needs a good beating.

  • garth says:

remeber when there used to be high-quality fights in the ring, not with duelling press conferences?

    that was awesome.

  • jjdnb says:

agreed. He’s a dick with alot of power. I hope Lorenzo sets him straight but i’m sure that will never happen.
But this shows that Randy has accomplished what he set after and thats to bring attention to the UFC managements shady practices. Looks like the owners are really taking Randy seriously now.
The UFC has to be very careful to tread lightly because everytime White opens him mouth, shit falls out and that makes the whole organization look bad.
I’m very interested to see how Lorenzo will handle this.

  • garth says:

this is the lamest, most boring effing dick-swinging contest imaginable. frankly, i could give two shits what randy or dana white or whatever the snack-chip-named owner thinks. i wish they’d all cut it out. it’s seriously impacting my enjoyment of the sport, and my willingness to spend my hard-earned check on it.
    freaking lame.

  • Shoutfan says:

Maybe Fertitta will announce Dana White’s resignation!

  • Mike says:

garth ur a fag, if ur letting this make it hard to watch the sport ur weird… it has nothing to do with the fighting your watching u little baby

  • garth says:

Mike, you’re a moron. Pick up a dictionary, learn some other insults, and suck a bag of cock, all righty?

  • jaydog says:

Mike and Garth: You’re setting a bad example for Dana and Randy. Act right!

There is an elephant in the room here and talking around it is getting old. Randy can’t stand working for Dana any longer because the guy is such an amoral slimeball. It’s not about money or respect, it’s about self-respect. When you’ve climbed to the heights of MMA, you shouldn’t have to kiss the ring of an egomaniac control freak like Dana White. Consider that all he could use to trump Couture’s press conference was to announce a continued deal with SpikeTV. Talk about wheel spinning. Dana has been good for the sport up to a point. Now, it’s time for the UFC to get more professional if they’re going to insist on being at the top of the MMA foodchain. Otherwise, more fighters like Couture will outgrow the UFC’s minor-league ways.

    I’m over this BS….

  • Sam Cupitt says:

A public apology perhaps?… we can only dream

  • lol at Zuffa CFO John Mulkey being put in the position of being “credibility man” since Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta lost theirs in Randy Couture’s eyes when they lied to him (according to Couture)… as if Mulkey is going to say anything that contradicts anything that White and Fertitta want him to say. Zuffa is not a public company, as they frequently point out in interviews. and unlike a public company, they can openly lie about contractual matters like this in public without being liable to the degree that a public company would be.

  • Drawzz says:

I still think Randy made a mistake…he is appearing in upcoming tv shows & movies…and the main reason for this is the UFC and the way they were able to market him to mainstream America…He is one of the top paid fighters in the organization, maybe not the top, be he is up there…and he has overtaken Liddell as the most marketed fighter and the money he will make outside of the octagon will be alot more if he was still part of the UFC…If he stays outside the UFC, his opportunties in acting and whatever else he wants to do besides train and fight, which he said was one of the reasons for leaving, are going to dry up alot quicker than he thinks…

  • Sam Cupitt says:

Mulkey will promote the image of reason and truth to the press conference. Rather than the image of Dana White swearing his tits off. The way Randy came across in his press conference to how Dana White went about his was really a role reversal of what youd expect in this type of situation in any other sport.

That kinda sent a lot more people to Randy’s side.

  • Gabber says:

I’m getting totally sick of this he said, she said crap. It’s brutal that it has resorted to this. Anyone see this as just a big PR move? Drumming up hype for Randy’s movie, a fight with Fedor and a big move by the UFC to get even more hype for their fight?

I just want to see some dudes fight, this is worse hype then the Kos vs Diego fight that sucked rocks, like give me a break.

    Less talking, more punching…

  • BASIX says:

Dana White in annoucing that he purchased both Randy and Fedor for personal use.
