Ninja Rua scheduled for Cage Rage 24

After a brutal TKO loss to Robbie Lawler last month, former EliteXC middleweight champ Murilo “Ninja” Rua, is looking to return to winning form against Frenchman Xavier Foupa-Pokam at Cage Rage 24 on December 1 in London, MMAWeekly reports.

“That wasn’t me,” who fans saw lose the EliteXC middleweight title to Lawler, Rua said. The Chute Boxe middleweight says that his stamina wasn’t what it should have been against Lawler and promises to be in the best shape of his life for Cage Rage 24.

“I know that Xavier Foupa-Pokam likes to stand up and punch,” Ninja told MMAWeekly. “It will be an electric fight for sure, the crowd will see a real war because I am going to war for this fight.”

Cage Rage 24 will be the promotion’s first event under the Pro Elite Inc. banner.

  • ossBASHA says:

Chute Box self-destructed after Wand left.

  • Wanderlei was without a doubt the heart of that team.

  • Davey D says:

Chute Boxe will be fine. Things happen and you need to find a way to make it better. I would like to see Ninja in the UFC. They could use a name like him in the MW class.

Silva, Franklin, Leben or Swick vs. Ninja would be sweet. Not that he gets Silva right now but with their past. I think that’d be a good one to see.

  • I’m not sure I understand his entire statement regarding the fact that it wasn’t him in the cage against Robbie Lawler. What more could he have done? Be more aggressive? Lawler’s power was the sole factor in causing Ninja to be cautious.

Cage Rage… great, more annoying words repeated loudly over the broadcast over and over again.
