Perhaps Sean Sherk won’t have his day in front of the California State Athletic Commission today after all.
According to T.J. De Santis of Sherdog.com, Sherk has informed the web site that he has requested an extension in his appeal of a one-year suspension and $2,500 fine for failing a state administered drug test.
“I don’t want this to take any longer than it has to, but I hired my lawyer just a couple of weeks ago,” Sherdog quotes Sherk as saying. “I want to get this done as soon as possible so I can fight B.J. [Penn] in November, but the next hearing wouldn’t be until October.”
There’s no word available as to whether Sherk’s request has been granted.
