Parisyan vs. Fitch?

Following his win over Josh Burkman at UFC 71, Karo Parisyan campaigned for a shot at the UFC Welterweight title. However, with the title on ice until at least November due to Matt Serra and Matt Hughes participating in the next taping of The Ultimate Fighter, Parisyan may have to fight at least once, or even twice before getting a shot.

Sources have told that a bout could be in the works between Parisyan and Jon Fitch, who defeated Roan Carneiro this past Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 10.

Nothing has been signed, and neither fighter has been presented a bout agreement, but I’m told it’s looking likely that these two will be facing each other in their next fight.

After George St. Pierre fights Josh Koshcheck, I would like to see Karo Parisyan fight GSP or Diego Sanchez. I know Sanchez lost to Koshcheck, but we now know that Diego had some health issues. With only one loss in his professional MMA career, he still should be considered in contention for the Welterweight title. If his wins his next two or three fights against top contenders, he should get a title shot. The 170 pound division is STACKED. You could throw GSP, Koshcheck, Karo, Fitch, or Diego into a title fight with Serra or Hughes (hopefully B.J. Penn stays in the Lightweight division, it’s a good weight for him). I used to like Matt Hughes but he can be an arrogant prick. I hope, but doubt, Serra retains the belt. I also hope the UFC can outbid Bodog for Fedor. Without him, we will not know who is the best heavyweight in the world of MMA.
